AQUARIUM IN A JAR

Storm came home with some homework. He had to make an aquarium or fish tank. I Googled some ideas an the following idea seemed to be the easiest. Below I will demonstrate in picture form, how to make an aquarium in a jar.

What you will need:

* Pebbles (I didn't have so I coloured mielies with pink and green food colouring)
* 1 empty mayonaise jar
* Blue food colouring
* 1 smaller empty jar...
* seaweed and things that look like they belong in the sea
* glitter
*1 tsp glycerine

Step One:  Colour the mielies and leave to dry

Step two:
*Pour a drop of blue food colouring into a jar and mix
*Pour blue mixture into the mayonaise jar with pebbles

Step three:
*Add the plastic seaweed and other sea creatures
*Pour a tsp of glycerine and glitter into the water and mix slightly

Storm also had a DIY cake.

What we used?

We bought a chocolate sponge cake from the local bakery for R50.00
1 can of Nestle Caramel Treat - R25.99
1 bottle (250gr) Clover Dairy Whipped Cream - R49.99
1 Edible A4 sized picture icing - R60.00

First, I stirred the caramel to make it a bit runny. Then I smeared it on the cake and added the picture.

Then creamed it.

Viola!

Spiderman Building Board

My son Storm turned 8 this year. We gave him a Spiderman themed birthday party. He had a blast.

I made various things for the party myself. I will start with a board I made as part of the décor.

What I used...
* 60cm cardboard
* Glue Stick
* Mesh tape
* Scissors
* Black paint

Step one: First I painted the board black and left it to dry. Then I cut the mesh tape into squares. I found a picture of a boy posing like Spiderman in the Spiderman costume bag and cut that out.

Step Two: I pasted the mesh tape onto the board and positioned the Spiderman in the right hand corner and stuck it down with the glue stick.

This board served as part of the party décor.
